Automated Death

In an ever changing world, technology is king. The more you know about it the better you are off. Today’s top tech is the tech that kills. There are many innovations in the battle field. The sort that are the most popular are those that need no man to operate. Thats right autonomous killing machines. Machines that need only a general target specification and they will take that target down. With out hesitation, with much greater precision, and ultimately much faster and efficiently.

There is a business that (for as long as humans exist) will never die. It is a known fact that humans invest more money in war and weapons than many other things. I think the only other is tech and fashion. Well, probably not true but the point is that it is something that people invest in one way or another. This means that there for ever will be a market for it. because of this many companies seem to want to get in the weapons design business. Not that they will start making weapons but that they will see how their product can be modified for the battle field. For example Boeing. They make airplanes and jet engines for commercial purposes. During WWII they made military planes by modifying their passenger planes. Later in the future they actually build a jet fighter for the US army. I don’t remember who won the contract but the point is that they made something specifically for war. As airplanes go there are very few companies that are involved. Companies that specialize in guns is a different story.

For the most part they can pump stuff out like candy. This is because man has been making guns for a very long time and it has the largest killing streak. There have been many innovations over time as to gun design and production. There have been 3 major innovations that made the gun the ultimate killing machine. The first of which was the rifling of the gun barrels. This is where spiral groves where mad in the barrel so that the bullet is given a spin. This spin makes it so that unequal masses in the bullet spin around so that it reduces the bullet curve. Then there was the second innovation but this time to the bullet. The shape of the bullet went from a ball (used in muskets and stuff like that) to conical. This Made the bullet more aerodynamic and in turn more speed and distance. Then the last major innovation was the cartridge. This made it so that the bullet and the gun powder was now one unit. This is very important because it made them much more reliable because the gun powder would no longer get wet and not fire. This innovation is also very important because it made loading guns faster. MUCH FASTER. True that guns are small and can only kill a few people at a time. Well thats were bombs come in.

Explosives are big in the world of the military. Explosives have grown over the years from simple accumulation of gun powder to complex explosive polymers that are many times more powerful than gun powder. One of the most popular explosives is trinitrotoluene (TNT for short). This stuff was used with no restraint. It became most notorious in the mining industry. The popularity did not stop there. Due to the low regulations of the stuff it became popular with criminals. Eventually TNT became a unit of measure for future explosives. This is most distinct in nuclear weapons. With the use of tons of TNT to measure the strength of nuclear bombs. Yea sure nukes are big and all that stuff but to say the truth they have only been around for a short time compared to the gun. Then there is also the fact that they have only really been used twice for actual war purposes. They have since become a very popular. In fact so popular that now in days the hardest thing about making one is getting the explosive material. This was demonstrated in a 1986 movie “The Manhattan Project”. Where a teenager built a nuclear bomb in his garage. Cool movie but a few errors hear and there.

Technology comes into play mainly in the area of making these weapons more deadly by removing the human aspect. Making weapons autonomous is still one of the most sought after innovations around. Airplanes and other air crafts can be made autonomous with greater ease than many other vehicles because they don’t have to worry about that many obstacles. Helicopters are a different story. Although they are not capable of doing air dog fights they are still quite useful to reduce the strain on a pilot from a long flight. There has been on plane on the planet that could only be flown by computer alone, not even remote control. This plane was ridiculously fast. the speed of the plane created G forces greater than that considered safe for humans. It was so fast that using radio control was out of the question because the signals would not have the response time needed to control the plane. These planes would be flown for a few minutes at top speed and then slow down so that the control can then be taken over from base command.

Guns as to this date are still quite manual due to the simplicity of the weapon. But future guns are sporting a microchip that can tell who is holding the gun. This a cool because it will make it so that unauthorized users can not operate the weapon (this will be hacked in days just you watch). They have also implemented a system where the bullets no longer have to be stacked in a magazine to them be loaded into the firing chamber. They are actually placed in the barrel one behind the other. They are ignited using an electrical pules, rather that a striking mechanism. They are trying to make it so that they can use conventional bullets as well so that the transition from old is not so hard. They have also been able to incorporate small electronic circuits in the actual bullet themselves. This gives a bullet a few extra capabilities like detonation at a certain range.

Bombs have also been technologically advanced. They now carry small cameras that are used to guide the missile for a short distance. Thats just for the short to medium range bombs. The long range bombs are guided by a few more sophisticated systems. There are bombs that are guided by a simple laser pointer. But for that a soldier would have to be near by to point at the target. The more sophisticated systems have GPS that using satellites in orbit can guide itself to the predetermined destination to with in a few feet. Using this system they can also have the bomb detonate at a predetermined height. This is innovative because the use of bombers is no longer needed the bomb is it’s deliverer.

Computers now in days are really powerful and people themselves are able to use them to make robotic apparatuses. There are high school students making robots that are controlled by a computer. Using simple C++ programing language. The internet makes this task that much simpler by providing the knowledge that is needed to make all these things. Not to mention the support from other enthusiasts. The YouTube video that inspired me to write this post is from a person that took his know how in electronics and the know how of others to make an automated gun torrent. Although his is for recreation use it is not hard for some one to modify it so that it works with a real gun. Then add a few more parameters as to what to shoot or not shoot, then make it bigger and more durable and its all set.

Considering how long human history is and how it has for ever been involved in war and death, it is no wonder why we find it so simple to create something that can kill rather than something that can save lives. I am not saying that people are not doing their part in that area its just that we don’t do as much as in the area of death. The point is that I have some good ideas for weapons of death.

These ideas are for the most part not new to the wold of science fiction. The problem is that people have this notion of weapons that use some sort of electrical power. What the fuck is up with that. If there is some thing that sci-fi has taught us is that energy weapons can be deflected. What ever happened to the notion that bigger is better? I talking (typing) the truth. People are all into this high tech weaponry stuff and the thing is why fix something that is not broken. Lets forget about the special doodads that we keep trying to implement. I say find a way to shove more energy into a smaller space and its all good. For example, large caliper fire arms. Like the Smith & Wesson Model 500, Desert eagle, and the Barret 82A1 (M107) or Accuracy International’s AS50. These are guns that fire a .50 caliber bullet. Normally these guns are just too much for the human body to handle.

Thats where i come in. If we can have machines take care of all the heavy work why stay in the box. Lets make giant walking tanks (mechs) that will fire large (bullshit large) caliber rounds. All i need is a good understanding on how to use SolidWorks (fabulous CAD program) and ill have you a prototype in a year. Then to top it off have like 4 different variants. One will be heavy and chuck full of fire power. Another would be stealthy and wicked fast. The other would be… Well i dont know but the point is that there will be things that they will all have in common. Things like the ability to go under water, flight is a must, and best of all remote control.

I know what your thinking. “Ah… dude that idea has been taken… its already been thought of… it’s all over cartoons and stuff” Bla bla bla bla… ok cool but has it been actually constructed? There have been some attempts at this but with shit results. Link to a vid. I assure you that some thing better can be accomplished with time and actual thinking. Not just a “Hey lets build some thing today” sort of scenario.

I would start just tossing my ideas up on the blog but that would be dangerous. Not to you. I mean me, because then people could take my shit and i am sorry but this is one thing i wont be sharing. ITS ALL MINE. ALL MINE I TELL YA. MUA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Mother Time Keeper
icon1 ronnyfry89 | icon2 post | icon4 09 4th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

Mother Time Keeper is the name I have given to a theoretical program that keeps time in a stop watch sor of manner. Yes I know that there are hundreds of programs that do somthing similar to this. The thing that I am making different is how it functions. I am not sure if the other programs out there do the same thing but what ever. Well I thought about this last night as I try go to sleep. I wok up in the middle of the night and wrote a reminder in my pocket not pad.

The program will be a multy platform application that rather than actually having a timer like fucktion where you stop and start and it has to be on to keep time, this application would actually keep track of the time and date of when you press the start, stop, or pause button. From that it has the ability to then calculate the time and then display it in a stop watch like display. This means that the program dose not need to be running all the time. Also because it is merely just a recording of when a click happened it is also possible to simply keep a file that is just a table of recorded clicks. Making it posible to view the timer any ware, on multiple platforms or even devices.

The name I though of is because of the giant father time clocks. The problem with father time clocks is that they are known for just keeping time of the current time. Thats boring any clock can do that. On the other hand if there was a mother time clock then she would be able to keep time of multiple events and stuff. Also not to sound sexist or anything but women do that shit with ought even trying. So why not give credit where credit is due. Yea but seriously how the do women keep track of this shit?

Friends or…
icon1 ronnyfry89 | icon2 post | icon4 07 5th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

The definition of friend is hard to explain. Sure there is the dictionary definition but that in no way do it justice. The definition for friend is long and most of the time confusing. Ok I may be making it a bigger deal than what it really is. So let me get to the point.

There are people around me that are friends and there are people around me that claim to be friends but are anything and everything but. There are friends that truly and honestly enjoy your presence. Then there are so called friends that don’t mined not seeing or hearing from you for years. Their is a fine line for both of these. The is a fine line between friend and life partner. Not that one person can be both its just that there are key things that determine in what path it leads to. The same goes to those that border line in the area of friend and foe. An acquaintance is a still a friend just one that is on the low lever that you don”t mined hanging around with for short periods of time, or it might just be a business thing.

The best way to think of it, is to picture a line. On that line you place yourself in the middle. Those that are closer to you in that line are people you can trust. Those on the left are people that you just do business with and on the rite you will have friends and if you want you can also have family. By default everyone you don’t know is your friend until you hear other wise.

So knowing your friends is hard. But whats even harder, is being a friend. To most being a friend is about saying yea, sure, why not?, all the time. But there is a problem with that. It is not always the best way to go and it can end badly. It is well understood that in a relationship honesty is key. The same goes for friends. I try to uphold this with all that I can. I admit that some times I find it hard to tell some one the truth, because of the fear of loosing the friend.

Remember how a few sentences ago I mentioned how complicated friendship is. Well my solution to this is simple but never the best choice.

Stop giving a dam.

Matt’s theory of “shut up”
icon1 ronnyfry89 | icon2 post | icon4 06 10th, 2008| icon31 Comment »

For those of you who don’t know who Matt is, well in short his a class mate whom for some reason can still stand to hang out with me.

We where having a conversation at school with some of the other teachers (by the way this was a very lay back environment) when Matt tried to get a kid to behave. He told them to “stop talking” at witch point they did. This is where Matt brought up the point that it seems that people react less to “shut up”, the more informal way of telling someone to shut up. Than they do to “stop talking”. It seems that “shut up” like many other phrases has become mere words with no actual credibility. A better way to think of it is by thinking of how valley girls talk, “oh my god… shut up… you so bad…) and stuff like that. To many kids of today “shut up is just merely a way of saying “talk lower so that i can scream over you and people can hear me and not you”.

So basically the point that was brought up was that people seem to have a more offensive reaction to “stop talking” that they do to “shut up”. This is something that you can test out for yourself. Try it some time. But please don’t over use it. Or it to will become another “shut up”

Time travel
icon1 ronnyfry89 | icon2 post | icon4 06 6th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

Updated on: 6-18-08
Updated on: 6-7-08

Lain (friend and colleague) and I where discussing some theory in time travel, when wee questioned a few things. Things like is it even possible theoretically? And if it is possible then what happens if we do? So wee pondered and we came up with the following thoughts that for some reason actually make sense. I will outline them in bullet points and sub bullets with numbers and stuff.

Known rules

  • If one travels back in time any change made to the past can dramatically alter the course of the future.
  • This can render the time traveler non existent.
  • In turn neither the person nor the event that lead up to the time travel trip will actually happen in the first place.

What this means

  • The future can never be altered.
  • The past can never be relived.

Loop hole or paradox and rule to proper time travel

  • The only way to go back in time is in the form of an observer. In other words need to be invisible to any and all living and nonliving things in the past. This means that you can’t as so much as leave behind a trace of the future.
  • If you so happen to change something this will not change the future but rather create another future. This is also known as an alternate dimension or reality.
    • If this was to happen then the future that you cam from would only repeat itself.
    • This would mean that the new dimension would only be a copy of the one that you were in up until the point that you altered by going back in time.
    • If that was to happen then this would truly mean that there are an infinite number of alternate dimensions.
      • There for one would never séance to exist.
      • Meaning that there could be infinite number of copies of one person.
    • This makes it possible to travel back in time to the beginning of time according to the branching off of the main time line.
    • It also make the thought that going back in time and undoing something is a waist of time because all that it is going to do is make another reality where all you did was undo what you did but the original outcome will still happen.
  • If time is constant then it would have had a beginning. So to travel back to the beginning you would have to do 2 things:
    • Travel back in time.
    • Travel from dimension to dimension.
  • Problem with previous statement is that if there is a beginning some may state that there is an end.
    • If this is true then there is a repeating system. This will lead to the thought that you don’t have to travel back in time, you can just weight it out. This is stupid.

Time travel requirements

  • It is well understood that for time travel to work one would need a massive quantity of energy.
    • The kind of energy varies. Any ware from raw electrical power to dark matter.
  • Some sort of device to control this power.
  • Some sort of time sensitive meter.
  • A force field or some other sort of barrier, which will protect you from time distortion and other anomalies.
    • It is known that metals will rust or decay. They will also produce some sort of interference with sensors and instruments.
    • It is theorized that electromagnetic force field will be unsuitable for this purpose for it can cause undesired effects.
    • On the other hand a combination electro magnetic, high frequency radio waves and light can be buyable.
      • Each of the energies can be used to compensate what one lacks or to cancel out the unwanted side effects of each other.
  • The ability to travel at or near the speed of light.
  • You must find a way to be able to follow space with in time. In other words if one was to make a time bubble they will then freeze in a point in space and if that happens the rest of the objects (planets, solar systems, galaxy, and clack holes) in space will continue to move with out you. There for you must also compensate for this (massive amount of mathematic calculations to take into account. There most likely is a simpler way but until we actually try something we might never know.

In conclusion there are many, many theories but the one way to answer them is to just try it. I mean there are tone and tones of sci-fi movies and books and stuff that have a time travel them attached. So why not touch on some of these methods or something. I will be making a visual chart to better illustrate how it connects. So look forward to the update.

Programing
icon1 ronnyfry89 | icon2 post | icon4 05 23rd, 2008| icon3No Comments »

Computer programing is big. Really big. The thing is that I find or i should say that no one has gotten it rite. By that i mean that there are so many programing languages yet they all have limitations when it comes to mimicking the way that humans think. This is something that I yet to understand because trying to program a computer to think the same way that a human can is not doable in that manner. Because when you think about it a computer is only programed to do ehat we gave it criteria for. This way of thinking just don’t work. A fully functional and thinking human being takes time to make. Pardon my words, I don’t mean to make it sound like humans are fabricated. Thats just the way it seems to go. So my theory is that the programming of a human is much simpler than that of any computer. This simplicity is lost over time due to what is known as learning. This is the one thing that computers have yet been able to do at the same level as humans. I say that because there are learning computers out there but the only learn to the extent that they are programed to learn. So my theory is what not let it learn the same way that a human learns from birth.

Human programing from birth is very simple. and if it was to be put in computer terms it would probably be something like an record and apply sort of thing. So basically if you was to give a computer the same 5 senses that humans have and then let it recored it’s interaction with it’s environment it will surely begin to notice patterns. If there is something that computers are good at is patterns. This is a form of learning no different that humans. Eventually we get to a point that we don’t need to experience something to know it and understand it. We simply go back to our past experiences or what we have been toled and put 2 and 2 together. For example a baby is tough not to put his fingers in the wall outlet by giving the kid a tap on the hand that is on the painful side, and saying no no no. The baby might not remember the no no no or even understand it, but the baby will understand pain. The baby will then remember that if it tries to touch it, pain is bound to come. This may sound like the most horible example to use but it works and it gets the point out.

So the idea is basically to make a android like baby that can feel not emotions because thats something we learn as well (you can argue this with me but thats my stand in it and I can tell you why later), but rather the 5 senses thing that I mentioned earlier. Have it wirelessly hooked up to a giant memory back with yota bites of storage. That will be its brain. Unless we find something different to use. Like maybe the fourth circuit. Then we simply live regular lives and stuff and every so often we can have a way that we can manually say hay stay asleep while we replace your body with a new one and stuff. Or we can raise it knowing that it is an artificial being and so sex wouldn’t matter. there are many options in this area and it really wouldn’t be that bad to just run all sorts of different criteria. The only problem i see to this project is that it will take a long long time. Then agen who cares rite? There is research that goes on and on for years and yield small results at the end and what do they do? Keep going. Plus the way i see it whats few years when all that we are doing now is also not working.

All I am saying is that if I had the funding and stuff to do this sort of thing I would. Its not like one cant be working on one thing only. If it is to look as human as possible one would have to have a job like everyone and make it look like its all good. So in reality it would be like a big project in the mess of many many small ones.

One movie that you should watch to better understand what I am trying to say, is titled “A.I.” I wont spoil it because this movie was so good in my opinion that i actually watch it not only in theaters but i actually bough the DVD. That don’t seem like much but if you know me than you will understand that for me to actually buy a movie is like OMG status.

Ok so hear is the thing there are a ton of things that I can talk about, rant, or just research. the problem is that I cant seem to get a look on something.

Saying that brings me to what I am asking. I need suggestions for a topic.

So just suggest away. Lets just keep it to one sentence if possible.
